THE LEADERSHIP OF SEEING™
Leadership Self-Awareness: From the Inside Out
The Leadership of Seeing™ is not a collection of tools or a series of workshops. At its core is leadership self-awareness — the capacity to see the patterns shaping how we perceive, relate and lead.
It begins by expanding what leaders are able to see — their own patterns and assumptions, the dynamics shaping their relationships, and the wider systems in which they lead.
By working from the inside out, leaders develop the awareness and relational intelligence to respond with greater clarity, particularly in moments of complexity, tension and pressure.
What leaders cannot see still shapes what they lead.
Under pressure, even experienced leaders can lose sight of their own assumptions, miss what is not being said, or overlook the dynamics unfolding around them.
What remains unseen does not remain individual. It enters conversations, decisions and relationships — shaping trust, performance and ultimately the culture around the leader.
The Five-Part Sequence
A five-part developmental sequence that expands how leaders regulate, perceive, relate and respond — strengthening leadership maturity from the inside out.

Leadership Beyond the Self

The Programme Experience
The Leadership of Seeing™ can inform both individual leadership development and organisational work.
The programme below is designed for senior leaders and leadership teams developing these capacities together.
Designed around the reality of senior leadership — focused, practical and built to fit demanding schedules.
15–20 Minute Learning Modules
Concise weekly learning designed to introduce key ideas, deepen awareness and support application in real leadership situations.
Reflection Practice
Structured reflection between sessions to uncover patterns, assumptions and habitual responses — and bring greater awareness to how you lead.
Group Transformation
Four 90-minute deep-dive sessions for a cohort of 8–12 leaders, supported by four 45-minute weekly touchpoints — creating continuity for reflection, courageous dialogue and the integration of learning into everyday leadership.
Executive Coaching
Three individual coaching sessions to deepen personal insight, work with real leadership challenges and integrate learning into practice.
Leadership Manifesto
The journey culminates in a Personal Leadership Manifesto — an articulation of how each leader chooses to lead, relate and respond going forward.
Time Commitment
1.5–2 hours per week.
The programme closes not with a certificate, but with a Personal Leadership Manifesto — written entirely in each leader’s own words — and a Leadership Declaration witnessed by the cohort.
A commitment, not a credential.

Who This Is For
Senior leaders who are already effective — and who sense that something in how they lead is not yet complete.
Leaders who drive results and care deeply about their people, yet have begun to notice a gap between their intentions and their impact.
They have seen the corridor conversation after the meeting. Felt the team go quiet at exactly the wrong moment. Noticed patterns in relationships that keep repeating. And, in honest moments, wondered whether some of what they see around them may be connected to something they are not yet seeing in themselves.
The Leadership of Seeing™ is for leaders willing to look more closely — at themselves, at the dynamics between people, and at the systems they help shape — not because they are failing, but because their next level of leadership requires a different quality of awareness.
It is also for HR, People and Organisational Development leaders who know that their organisation’s next performance frontier is not another skills programme — and who are ready to invest in something that addresses the root.
Leadership Outcomes
What changes in the leader — and what becomes possible around them.
FOR THE LEADER
FOR THE ORGANISATION
Awareness Under Pressure
Recognise reactions and habitual patterns earlier, creating greater choice between trigger and response.
Trust & Psychological Safety
Create conditions for more honest dialogue, stronger relationships and greater willingness to contribute.
Clearer Perception
See beyond labels and assumptions, and respond more accurately to the person and situation in front of them.
Shared Ownership
People feel trusted to think and act, strengthening initiative, accountability and collaboration.
Relational Intelligence
Listen with greater curiosity, navigate difficult conversations more courageously, and create the conditions for honest dialogue.
Better Decisions Under Pressure
Bring more perspectives into the conversation, strengthening shared thinking and the quality of decisions under pressure.
Trust & Elevate
Step back from having all the answers so others can think, contribute, take ownership and grow.
Greater Adaptability
Strengthen the organisation's capacity to collaborate, adapt and respond effectively to complexity and change.
The programme also draws on the organisational psychology work of Professor Ben Bryant at IMD on leadership identity, unconscious dynamics in organisations and the deeper conditions required for sustained leadership transformation.
The work of Stephen Porges, Bessel van der Kolk and Iain McGilchrist informs the programme's attention to nervous-system regulation, embodied patterns and the ways perception shapes how leaders interpret and respond to the world around them.

The Research Behind the Approach
The Leadership of Seeing™ brings together established research in emotional intelligence, psychological safety, nervous-system regulation, relational dynamics and leadership development.
SELF-AWARENESS & EMOTIONAL INTELLIGENCE
Drawing on the work of Daniel Goleman, the programme develops the capacity to recognise internal patterns, regulate responses and lead with greater awareness — capabilities that become increasingly important at senior levels of leadership.
PSYCHOLOGICAL SAFETY & RELATIONAL INTELLIGENCE
Amy Edmondson's research demonstrates the importance of psychological safety for learning, speaking up and team performance. The programme develops the relational conditions in which people can contribute more honestly, challenge constructively and learn together

About Diana

Diana Alexandrova spent 22 years in the corporate world — 15 of them leading people, developing leaders and navigating real organisational transformation at Stora Enso, one of Europe’s largest companies.
The Leadership of Seeing™ did not begin with a framework. It emerged from one consistent observation across 15 years of leading people: those who perform at their best do so when they feel genuinely seen, trusted, challenged and supported to grow.
And the leaders who create those conditions are not necessarily the ones with the most sophisticated frameworks. They are the ones willing to do their own inner work.
Her work draws on 22 years of corporate leadership, training at IMD Lausanne and — unexpectedly — a decade of applying the principles of developmental psychology across both family and organisational life. It was this intersection of leadership, psychology and lived experience that gave The Leadership of Seeing™ its depth.
Today, Diana works with senior leaders and leadership teams, helping them see more clearly — themselves, the people around them and the systems they help shape — so they can lead with greater awareness, relational intelligence and choice.
The experience behind the work.
